About the course
Explore the deeper origins of the secular Reiki system in the teachings of Buddho. The Buddho system will take you on a journey to the true heart of the Reiki system.
In this Level 1 class, you will receive the empowerment for this level which activates four of the chakras. Consequently, the practitioner develops a much higher awareness of the subtle vibrations of the various energy centres and the movement of subtle energy around the body. The student is then introduced to the first three cycles of the Buddho meditation: the esoteric Buddhist practice that Mikao Usui, the founder of the Reiki system practiced on an intensive 21-day retreat on the holy mountain of Kurama in Japan. The empowerment helps to trigger the student's ability to engage with the energy of the Buddho meditation, enhancing it and strengthening their own energy field, and bringing deep stillness and clarity to the mind.
The origins of the Reiki power symbol as a component within a meditative yantra are explored and two Sanskrit and three Tibetan symbols are taught for use within the three cycles of the Buddho meditation which help to enhance the energy flow in the various chakras.
The use of yantra as an aid to meditation is explored in some depth as yantra meditation practice is developed further through all levels of the Buddho system.
The first part of the Chi Nadi sequence is introduced which takes the energy generated in the Buddho meditation and uses it to strengthen the physical body and bring the mind to a state of deep clarity and open awareness as the student works through the mindful movements of Chi Nadi.
Self-healing through point pulse is introduced that builds on work already completed within the Reiki system.
Breathing methods that help to strengthen the lungs and nadis of the upper body, as well as increase sensitivity to energy flow, are taught.
